Conditions

Minimum re-entry time*

  • After a well-behaved blast with no known or suspected misfires
5 minutes
  • In the case of EBS -after programming of detonators by the Blast Box has begun, and the blast has been aborted.
5 minutes
  • After known misfires e.g. an electronic detonator in a single primed explosives deck does not report good at firing time
5 minutes
  • After unknown or unexpected misfires, including an EBS blast which appears to have out-of-sequence firing, which should initially be treated as a misfire, since the system may not have worked as intended
5 minutes
  • Blast that includes packaged explosive and detonating cord systems in pre-split applications i.e.PyroSplit
5 minutes
  • Blast initiated by safety fuse
30 minutes

* All re-entry times are subject to local regulation, if local regulations specify a greater requirement the local regulation must be adhered to.

If the shotfirer conducting the re-entry identifies a hazard post blast it should be adequately risk assessed before proceeding – hazards may include but are not limited to dust, fume, wall stability, a blast that did not perform as expected etc.
